Thankful Living
When Regina Brett was ninety years old, she wrote a column for the "Plain Dealer," Cleveland, Ohio. It is the most requested column she ever wrote and it is entitled "45 Life Lessons." The first one is "Life isn't fair, but it is still good." As we face the excitement and the challenges of the new year, these life lessons may be just what we need. As I read and reread her list, I was struck by the fact that so many of them are taught in the Bible or illustrated by the people described in the Bible.
I will preach life lessons from the Bible during the weeks leading up to Lent. I will refer to this list occassionally and examine the lives recorded in the Bible; everyone from Peter to Haman to Mary Magdalene and beyond. I will use "Egermeier's Bible Story Book" from which I read every night to my daughter during her growing-up years. I want you to be as inspired and blessed as I am by the amazing life lessons found in the Bible.
This is the way to begin the new year - truths from the pages of this Holy Book.
